When I started The Pink Soapbox I was excited to discuss and post about personal experiences and some of my favorite lifestyle topics on my website and social media sites. As it is evolving I know that there are some things that unless I specifically talked about nobody would know about me.

It got me thinking about the things I take for granted that make me who I am but may be little known facts to many or most. Don't get too excited or start yawning just yet.. Ha Ha.... None of these are earth shattering or life changing but fall in the bucket of ( or at least I thought so when I made the list- :) fun facts that give you just a little more of a glimpse in to who I am and some of the experiences I have had over the years.

I do have very eclectic tastes in clothes, music, hobbies and more. I can rock a preppy #Tuckernuck shift dress with pearls one day, be all in black from head to toe the next & feel perfectly comfortable in a concert t-shirt, leather jacket ( only the finest diva quality of course) with jeans the next . Blogging has been a great place to share more about life, the little things that make each day worth living and fun stuff. I am a high energy reformed perfectionist (because there is no such thing as perfect) , drink more coffee than I have any business doing & have learned to not only create boundaries but enforce them without guilt or fear of reprisal. It's what keeps me sane.

Now for the REAL list:

( Remember..Fun facts so no laughs , smirks or chastising. That is my job)...........

1) Growing up my nick name my dad gave me was "Buffy"- I had white blonde curly hair and when my mom would put it in pig tails I could have been a pretty good understudy for Buffy, the little girl on the 70's comedy "Family Affair"

2) It took me until last year to run my first 5K that I have been talking about doing for the last 10...

3) I am an avid bicylcle enthusiast and have done 3 centennial 100 mile bike rides (road bike/no mountain biking thanks. Too bumpy).......

4) My dad taught me to drive on an old car with a stick shift. I was terrified and remember how lucky I ended up being that he was teaching my older sister how to drive a stick at the same time because she made me look like a pro....

5) I am a black diamond level skier that was hooked ever since my first ski trip at 16 with my church youth group to Seven Springs outside of Pittsburgh.

6) I love to sew and purchased my first sewing machine the year I was pregnant with my second child. My best friend Kara at that time and I took a class at the local community college and it stuck with me. I make curtains, window seat cushions, pillows, tooth fairy pillows, bibs, baby blankets & designer style diva burp cloths mostly for friends or family.

7) My senior year in college at the University of Tennessee-Knoxville I dated Mike Keith who was just inducted into the Tennessee Radio Hall of Fame and has been the voice for the Tennessee Titans football team for years. He also just happens to be the cousin of the actor David Keith

8) I lived in Wilkes-Barre , PA (Scranton area) my first year and a half out of college and worked for Nabisco making some amazing friends I still keep in touch with.....

9) During the years when I lived in Nashville I was in sales for a Commercial Interiors company and worked with Wynona Judd and her then husband Arch Kelley on 3 projects at their home and offices. Thought she would be a diva but not at all.....

10) I was a vegan for almost 10 years from 1990-1999 and became a "pescatarian" after that eating fish and select shellfish but haven't eaten meat of any kind including a classic burger since 1988. No, I don't miss bacon or wish I could eat Chik-filet. Probably the two most asked questions from my kids over the years and no neither one of my children have followed in my footsteps.

So that's it for now. As we continue on this journey I am sure there will be more to come. Leave me a "fun" fact about you I would be interested to know. #StayCurious isn't just my tagline, it's how I roll.
